Using Morph Target in ZBrush Sculpting by Jaakko Saari
Morph target is a great way to save state of the model in ZBrush. You can click StoreMT in Morph Target panel, and then sculpt on a model. If you want to restore the earlier state you can click Switch.
You can also use Morph brush to restore some areas of the model to the original. There is also excellent Morph Spray brush:

This is great also when one wants to use surface noise. Storing morph target before applying surface noise can allow you to brush back some of the original shape.
